Newmark Homes Brings the Music to Chef Fest

Newmark Homes is bringing the music to Chef Fest next month as the food festival’s exclusive stage sponsor — and that’s not the only news we have to share.

Due to our builder’s generosity, Chef Fest attendees will be able to easily see and hear both musical guests when they take the stage.

Kicking things off will be Sean Heyl. The songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist will perform his signature mix of indie and rock with a dash of folk. Heyl plays throughout the Houston area, including at our own Harvest Green Farmers Market.

Sam Turner & the Cactus Cats will be headlining Chef Fest singing songs from their debut album, “Wanna Be Your Man.” Melding new country, Americana, Texas country, indie rock and old school soul, the band is honky tonk at its finest.

But wait, there’s more. Attendees have opportunities to augment the Chef Fest fun with add-on events. These hands-on experiences are available to ticket holders for an additional fee. Spaces are limited and advance online purchasing is encouraged.

Coffee aficionados are going to want to add “Coffee: From Bean to Brew” to their itinerary. Coffee pros from Young Hustler Coffee will take you through an immersive, hands-on class discussing sourcing, roasting, and of course, brewing. They will explain how to make your home brew taste just like the one you pick up at your favorite coffee shop. You also get an 8-oz cup to-go and a gift of hand-roasted beans. Cost is $10 per person.

Got kids who won’t eat their vegetables? There’s a solution. The “Kids Cooking Class with Chef Jane Wild” experience. Chef Jane Wild will teach an all-veggie cooking class to kids ages 5-12. There will be three classes held throughout the day. Each class is 30 minutes long and limited to 10 kids each. Class is $20 per child and includes all ingredients and cooking utensils. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent.

Tickets are now on sale for Chef Fest, taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26.  Tickets are $95 for adults and $20 for children and can be purchased online. Prices include unlimited bites, five drink tickets and interactive experiences.
