New Harvest Green Elementary School Moving Forward

New Harvest Green Elementary School Moving Forward

Young Harvest Green residents are fortunate to have both a high school and a middle school conveniently located within the community. Now, after an intensive period of planning, dirt will be moving on an on-site elementary school.

The Fort Bend Independent School District Board of Trustees has approved construction service agreements on the as-yet-unnamed school to be located on Harlem Road, west of Travis High School. The new campus is part of a bond program passed in 2014 to support the student growth taking place on the west side of the district. Another elementary school will be constructed near the northeast corner of Beechnut Street and Harlem Road.

Drymalla Construction Company, Inc., will oversee the building of the 123,440-square-foot, two-story campus at a cost of $27,550,000. It is slated for an August 2017 opening. Until then, elementary school students will continue to attend Oakland Elementary.

Harvest Green offers a wide range of homes priced from the $260,000s. Students attend some of the most highly regarded schools in the FBISD including Travis High School, which was awarded a 2015 Silver Medal by U.S. News and World Report for is college preparedness programs.
