Harvest Green Schools Get All A’s
The 2021 Niche.com list of the best schools in the nation is out and all three of Harvest Green’s on-site schools got an A on their report card.
For the 2021 Best Elementary Schools list, Neill Elementary received an A-. The school scored particularly high in academics and diversity. Notably, Neill placed in the top 25 for Most Diverse Public Elementary Schools in Texas, ranking No. 22 out of 4,961.
Bowie Middle School achieved an A ranking. On measurements of academics, diversity and teacher qualities, the school received A’s across the board. Bowie ranked among the top 50 middle schools in Houston.
Travis High School also received an A with top marks in academics, clubs and activities, diversity and college preparation. The high school placed No. 5 out of 2,072 for Most Diverse Public High Schools in Texas. It is also ranked among the top 10 Best Public High Schools in Fort Band County. In 2019, Travis was among the 21 percent of Texas schools receiving a coveted an A rating from the TEA. In addition, Travis received distinctions in social science and comparative closing the gap in state-mandated testing.
It’s no surprise that our schools did so well. They are part of the Fort Bend Independent School District. The district received an A rating from Niche.com, but that is only one of the many accolades Fort Bend ISD receives each year. Fort Bend ISD students are routinely recognized for exemplary achievements by the National Merit Scholars Program, the National Association of Music Merchants, Children at Risk, The Washington Post’s Top High Schools in the national rankings, U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools in the nation and the United States Presidential Scholars Program.
The Niche.com school rankings are based on a number of variables, including state test scores, graduation rates, diversity and quality of school administration. The data is compiled from public sources such as the Department of Education, U.S. Census and Common Core as well as parent surveys.
