Harvest Green Schools Earn Full Marks on Children at Risk Report

Harvest Green schools scored all A’s on the 2016 public school rankings released recently by Houston-based advocacy group Children at Risk.

The annual report tallies schools based on achievement, performance and growth indicators, as well as college readiness for high schools, using data compiled by the Texas Education Agency. Elementary, middle schools and high schools are ranked separately and schools also are given a letter grade from A+ to F.

Bowie Middle School and Travis High School, located within the master-planned community, both earned an A. Oakland Elementary School earned an A-.

Travis High School ranked among the top 50 high schools in the Houston area. Travis boasts a strong academic program with more than 200 possible course selections including 26 College Board Approved AP and 14 Pre-AP classes in math, science, English, social studies, foreign languages, and fine arts. The school also boasts a global studies and international business and marketing academy.

James Bowie Middle School ranked number 44 out of 303 Houston-area middle schools. Students at Bowie routinely score well on state-mandated tests and the school offers a number of pre-AP and honors courses to prepare them for the rigors of high school.

Oakland Elementary school utilizes a number of state-of-the-art academic programs such as Accelerated Reader, which encourages the development of reading comprehension skills. Young Harvest Green residents attend Oakland until the community’s on-site school opens in 2017.

Harvest Green schools are a part of the coveted Fort Bend Independent School District. Homes are priced from the $240,000s. Residents also enjoy a number of amenities including a community farm, miles of trails and a planned amenity center. Learn more about Harvest Green schools here
