Developer sows the seed for next phase in Houston's first agrihood

Johnson Development Corp. is moving forward on Harvest Green, the first residential community in Houston to be anchored by a working farm.

The Houston developer and its builder partners have opened nearly a dozen model homes and are under construction on some 90 home sites in the 1,300-acre community, located off the Grand Parkway and West Airport Boulevard in Fort Bend County.

The new master-planned community — Houston’s first agrihood— will feature up to 2,000 homes with optional backyard gardens and more than 300 acres of farmland that can support a farm-to-table lifestyle...
