Meet Our New Fitness Director: Michele Stamos

When it comes to staying active, we like to keep our residents on their toes, which is why we are pleased to introduce our new fitness director, Michele Stamos.

Michele has more than 20 years of experience in the health and fitness game. She will teach yoga, pilates, boot camp, HIIT, barre and sports conditioning as well as handling personal training, spa, group exercise and anything and everything else fitness related.

Her goal is to motivate people to live a healthy lifestyle.

“Creating a healthy, positive environment is key,” Michele said. ”Offering a variety of classes and events that keep people motivated and excited about health and wellness is important. Fitness and healthy living is a forever, on-going lifestyle!”

The former NBA Milwaukee Bucks dancer grew up in Wisconsin where she played league soccer and danced. At the age of 17, she began teaching a “Jazzercise- type” class. She also taught gymnastics and cheer at the local YMCA.

She has a lot of plans for keeping our residents in peak condition, including merging lifestyle events and fitness to create fun, family events, developing kids’ camps and programming for next summer and generally utilizing all of Harvest Green as a fitness playground.

“Every age, size and all levels of fitness are welcome,” Michele said. “We have complimentary orientations and fitness assessments available to our residents and an on-site fitness team available to answer any questions.”

When Michele isn’t inspiring people to live a more active lifestyle, she loves to garden (one of the reasons she loves Harvest Green) and hang out with her two rescue dogs. Barney is a black lab and Pax is a German Shepherd. She also fosters rescue dogs (28 and counting). Right now, she has a boxer/shepherd mix she is trying to find a “fur-ever” home for.
