Featured Builder: Meritage Homes

Can your beautiful new home also be healthier for your family, energy efficient and sustainable? It can when you choose to build with Meritage Homes in Harvest Green.

We love everything about the 13 beautiful floor plans our featured builder offers in our community. The open-concept living that brings family and friends together, the big island kitchens that are the heart of these homes and the flexible living spaces can become whatever your family needs. We also love what you can’t see. Features that improve the way your new home functions, saves you money and reduces your carbon footprint.

Meritage Homes recently earned its sixth Consecutive ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award for Leadership in Energy-Efficient Homebuilding from the he U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. More than 40,000 Meritage homes across the nation have been built to exceed ENERGY STAR requirements since 2010.

What does that mean? It means that every Meritage energy-efficient home contains more than $15,000 of included features that work together to provide improvements in the way your home functions. It means you spend less on utility bills and more on what matters to you.

How can you tell? Well, the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) created a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) to measure a home's energy efficiency and determine if it meets ENERGY STAR guidelines. The lower the HERS Index, the more energy efficient the home. A typical existing home has a HERS score of 130 while the average new home has one of 100. A typical ENERGY STAR home has a score of 80. A Meritage home has much lower scores, and lower scores mean more savings.

Take the beautiful Mont Blanc floor plan, which you can visit in our model home park. It’s the largest design Meritage Homes offers in our community, coming in at 3395 square feet. You would expect a large home like that to use a lot of energy, but the HERS score is a mere 58. This equates to a 55 percent energy use reduction compared to a typical existing home. Pretty cool, huh?

Meritage also makes sure their homes are healthy, building in features that reduce pollution, allergens, and dirt. Other features help to reduce your water consumption by as much as 50 percent without sacrificing performance (or your lifestyle).

It’s a win for you and for nature! Come visit the Meritage Homes modelat 3419 Heather Garden Trail to see everything the builder offers, including an amazing home automation package. Homes are priced from the $300,000s. Pick your perfect home today!
