Harvest Green Gets '€śGlitzy'€ť for Couture for the Cause April 14

Harvest Green’s fabulous Farmhouse is set to be the runway for high fashion as it welcome’s Fort Bend’s favorite fundraiser, Couture for the Cause, 7 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Benefitting The American Cancer Society, Couture for the Cause is an unforgettable evening of delicious food, notable entertainment and a spectacular fashion show featuring couture models -— many of whom are cancer patients or survivors — seizing their own opportunity to give back.

This year’s theme, "Garden Glitz," is particularly apt for our “farm-tastic” community as evidence suggests people can reduce their risk of cancer by making healthy food choices and staying active — ideas reflected in Harvest Green’s overall theme.

The event also honors the life of title sponsor Johnson Development’s longtime employee, Carolyn Williams. Carolyn lost her 13-year, hard-fought battle with cancer on June 14, 2016. Chairman and CEO Larry Johnson and his wife Suzie, both cancer survivors, have graced previous Couture for the Cause runways. Harvest Green is a Johnson Development community.

The pool-side fashion show is being produced by Lenny Matuszewski with hair by the team at Milagro Salons, makeup by LaDonna Marie of Sugar Land Face & Body, and clothing by Dillards.

In addition, guests enjoy food stations from area restaurants, a wine pull and a Big Board auction. The popular “Baubles & Bubbles” raffle sponsored by Marlene and Samir Dharia of Plaza Jewelers also will be back. Visitors to the Couture for the Cause Facebook page can vote for their favorite 3D image of a custom bauble to be made and raffled off the night of the event.

Event tickets are $125 and can be purchased online.  All of the proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society and its mission.
