February Farm Report

Spring is on the horizon, and the Village Farm is hopping. From the farmers market to another fig orchard planting day, there are a lot of reasons to come visit us.

Visit the Farmers Market

Just a reminder that our weekly farmers market has everything you need to put fresh, delicious food on your table. In addition to the bounty harvested from our Village Farm, vendors sell everything from homemade jam to jewelry. Visit us 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays rain or shine to meet our merchants and stock up on delicious food.

More Fig Planting on the Horizon

We’ve got another fun, fig fling coming up in March. Our new fig orchard near the Harvest Green silo is growing strong but needs a few more trees. The public is invited out 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 23, to help us plant beautiful and fruitful additions to our community. Stay tuned for more information and our sign-up sheet!

Don’t Miss the Next Farm Tour

Meet the Farm Tours have started up again, and you are invited! Our tours are a great way to see what your favorite veggies look like in the field. As a bonus, you get to taste some of the fruits of our labor. The next tour is 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 23. Reserve your spot today. More tours will take place April 27 and May 25.

Tomatoes in the Tunnel

You can never have too many tomatoes, so were preparing one of our tunnels for planting! We’ll be planting one row each of the following tomato varieties: Cherry Bomb, Sun Gold and Valencia. This is the first year we’ve tried this, and we’re hoping doing so will provide tomatoes for the farmers market earlier than ever.

In Season

Stop by the market to pick up kale, collard greens, salad mix, carrots, fennel, watermelon radish, kohlrabi, orange cauliflower and purple cauliflower.
